The Department of Technology Services provides daily hardware and software support and operations for the district’s wide area network, instructional and business enterprise applications, 23,000 computers, 400 plus file servers, and thousands of network electronic devices. This work provides the technological highway upon which the district’s instructional, business, and communications systems flow at 90 campuses across the 464 square miles of our school system.
DTS is currently deploying AT&T’s upgraded Premium Metro-Ethernet wide area network connectivity at all campuses as well as doubling our available Internet bandwidth.
Since January 2010, Technology Services has successfully replaced 76 physical file servers and 198 virtual file servers at our school and departmental sites. We have also replaced over 700 Cisco switches at 40 school sites and are in the final stages of providing wireless canopies at all campuses.
